The Huehuetenango region rests high in the mountains ranging from 5000-6500 feet or approximately 2000 masl (meters above sea level). This renowned coffee-growing region owes its unique climate range to the mountains in Mexico’s Tehuantepec plain that carry warm air into the region enabling coffee plants to thrive.
