Decaf Colombia Samaria Farm - Belen de Umbria
We will roast this Colombin Decaf the week of July 28. We’ll make it available for sale on the website the same week.
Samaria Farm is a fourth generation family farm in Belen de Umbria, Colombia. This Caturra/Typica varietal was initially wet processed, including a 12 hour fermentation to break down the fruity mucilage, and subsequently dried.
The coffee was then decaffeinated by Descafecol using sugarcane as a main source for the naturally occurring material needed in their decaffination process; hence “Sugarcane” process.
One of my favorite Decafs in the past 2 years; difficult to differentiate between a beautful Central/South American coffee and Decaf.
Flavor Profile: Choclate, Carmel, nice light brown sugar sweetness.
- Grower: Samaria Farm
- Region: Belen de Umbria, Risaralda Dept.
- Elevation: 1600 masl
- Process: “Sugarcane” Decaf; washed
- Varietal: Caturra, Typica
